The Case for Cruising

The Case for Cruising

It’s no secret that I love cruising but you might be wondering why a cruise instead of something else??? Here are my top 5 reasons that cruising is one of the best choices when we vacation!

  1. Value- When we cruise, I know EXACTLY what it is going cost me because so much is included. In a base cruise fare- at minimum, the room, all food ( AH the GOOD FOOD!!!) and fun is included. When we visit the cruiseline private islands, again, food and fun is always included! Yes, I can add a drink package or an excursion, but I don’t have to! If I’m looking for a budget friendly vacation, I can for sure find some options in a cruise!
  2. Drivability- Flights are almost always the fun governor when it comes to planning a vacation on a budget! Coming from Nashville, I haven’t seen a steal of a deal on a direct flight in a decade or so but when we cruise, there are TONS of ports we can leave from within driving distance.
  3. Fun for ALL AGES- When talking about a multi generational family vacation, a cruise is where it’s at! Trivia, Crafts, Casino and Bingo for Grandma. Adults only pools, Sports Bars and Game rooms for Gramps. Water activities and broadway style shows for everyone! Splash Pads for the babies. Spas for the boujee family members. Workout Classes for the Gym Rats. Different kids clubs for kids from 6 months to 18 years old! Ice skating, bumper cars, INDOOR SKYDIVING! If you get bored on a cruise, you probably need to get evaluated when you get home! More importantly, I can help you choose a ship that is right for you so this doesn’t happen! The cheapest, oldest ship is not for thrill seekers. The news ship with rollercoasters and skydiving might not be the best for a low key girls trip! I can help you sort through the options!
  4. See LOTS of places- How would I know where I do want to go back to and spend a week if I didn’t get a little taste of it on a cruise?? Some of my favorite all inclusive resorts were found because I first visited that island on a cruise. On the flip side of that, some of the places I thought would be amazing, were not my cup of tea and I am thankful I was just there for a day! On a 7 day cruise, you can expect to visit 4 islands and each one will have different activities and beaches so you will come back a world traveler!
  5. No PHONES– I’ll say it. I don’t buy phone service for my kids on a cruise. I do keep my phone active because of my job but other than that, we don’t use our phones at all. Do you know how nice it is to have your kids actual attention during dinner? Well.. I’ll tell you! Your kids are actually awesome when they look up from a screen! I promise they will survive without internet while at sea!!

If you are thinking WOW- I need a super fun vacation where I can be a world traveler, without random costs popping up all over the place, let me know! I would love to help you plan a cruise vacation that fits perfectly for your family!
